The Federation is led by a President, an Executive and a Secretariat elected every two years. The Federation’s elected officers and members of the Executive and the Secretariat are ultimately accountable to the organisation’s General Assembly which comprises the accredited representatives of member organisations.

Michael Kashis
Michael was born in Cyprus and emigrated to the UK in 1980. An educationalist by background, he served as a Head Teacher in a number of schools in Cyprus and, following his arrival in the UK, held the same position at Greek language community schools in the UK. He also worked as a Schools’ Improvement Officer in Haringey with a special interest in ethnic minorities and served as the Chief Examiner of the Modern Greek language at EDEXCEL for ten years (1981-1991).
Michael was elected as Vice-President of the Federation in 2007, having previously served on the Executive and the Secretariat of the Federation for two separate terms. He represents the Socialist Party EDEK UK, of which he is the current President .He also serves as the President of the “Neochorion Kythreas in Great Britain Association”. Michael has also been an active trade union leader and has previously held the position of the Organising Secretary-General of the Teachers’ Trade Union of Cyprus (POED) from 1973-1980.
He graduated with a Teachers’ Diploma in Cyprus and continued his studies as a British Council scholar in Edinburgh University’s Moray House – School of Education where he was awarded a Diploma in TESL/FL. He furthered his education at the University of London-Institute of Education where he graduated with a Masters Degree in Philosophy of Education.
Andreas Papaevripides
Andreas has been a member of the Federation’s Executive since 1991. He served as Treasurer of the Federation from 1991-1995 and has been one of its Vice-Presidents since 1995.
Andreas also serves as Chairman of Democratic Rally UK since 1994, a branch of Cyprus’s DE.SY. party. He is also Vice-Chairman of “Conservatives for Cyprus” and very actively involved in the Conservative Party. During 1979-80 he was President of the National Union of Cypriot Students in England (EFEKA) and between 1975-1981 General Secretary of the Cypriot Football League in England (KOPA). He has also been the General Secretary of Kato Pyrgos Tyllirias Association since 1977. In 1992, Andreas was appointed by the Health Secretary, as a non-executive Director of Enfield Community Care NHS Trust for a term of six years. He was also the Chairman of the Trust’s Audit Committee for five years.
Andreas has graduated from Chelsea College (merged with King’s and Queen Elizabeth College in 1985) of London University with a BSc degree in Economics and continued his studies in Accountancy (FFA, FAIA). He has been in practice since 1980.
Christodoulos Stylianou
Christodoulos Stylianou has been a long serving Vice-President of the Federation, a post to which he was re-elected in June 2007. Christodoulos has also been the Secretary of AKEL in Britain since 1995 and is a serving member of the Central Committee of AKEL in Cyprus. He is also a member of the Cyprus President’s Advisory Committee for Overseas Cypriots and a member of the World Council of Overseas Cypriots, POMAK – PSEKA. Christodoulos has been active in Cypriot community affairs in the United Kingdom from a young age, joining the Cypriot Youth Movement soon after his arrival in Britain in 1958 at the age of 16 years old and becoming its Secretary in 1962. He has also served as President of the Federation of Greek Cypriot Community Schools (OESEKA) for a period of fifteen years (1981 – 1995) and has been a founder member and first Secretary of United Federation of Educational Greek Church and Community Schools (EFEPE). He has also held positions as Secretary of Greek Parents Association which has oversight over Greek language community schools in the UK (1967 – 1972) and as President of Bowes Road Greek School (1992 – 1995). Christodoulos is currently the Manager/Coordinator of the Haringey-based Cypriot Community Centre. He is a Member of the Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators. Christodoulos was born in Avgorou, Famagusta, Cyprus and is married to Nina from Paphos, Cyprus. They have two daughters and two grandsons.
